James Everett Kent, 68, of Kitzmiller, MD, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born October 9, 1950, in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Lawrence Everett “Peanut” and Bertha Christina (Stewart) Kent. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother and sister; one brother, Bobby Kent.

James worked as a laborer for Beitzel Lumber Company. He retired from the Wisp Resort in the maintenance department. James was a member of Mt.

Lake Independent Baptist Church in Oakland. He is survived by his wife, Carol Mae Kent; four sons, Raymond Everett Tichinel, Oakland; James Lawrence Kent and wife, Jessica Lynn, Fairmont, WV; Walter Lee and Travis Trit “Steve” Kent, both of Kitzmiller; three brothers, Jerry Kent, Deer Park, MD; Mike Kent, Mt. Lake Park, MD; Ricky Kent, Terra Alta, WV; three sisters, Patsy Tasker, Walnut Bottom, MD; Tammy Bowman, TN; Sherry Brown, Mt.

Lake Park; five grandchildren. At James request, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at Mt.

Lake Independent Baptist Church, 1005 Broadford Rd. , Oakland, MD 21550, with Pastor Dennis Leatherman and Pastor James Kent officiating. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD 21550, is in charge of his arrangements.
