Arthur’s Obituary Arthur D. Robinson (Buppy), 87, of Mauldin, SC passed away on Sunday March 17th, 2019. Doug was born in North Andover, Massachusetts on June 15, 1931. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Mauldin, SC.

After graduating from High School, Doug enlisted in the United States Marine Corps June of 1951 where he had 2 honorable discharges. His first honorable discharge as Sergeant was in June 1954. After his first honorable discharge, he attended Union College in Barboursville, KY where he met his first wife Betty Jo (deceased).

After graduation, they then moved to Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. He served during the Korean War and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. After his second honorable discharge as First Lieutenant, they moved back to Lee County Virginia where he taught High School Biology at St. Charles High School and Pennington High School for 2 years before started Pharmacy School at Medical College of Virginia.

After graduating Pharmacy school, he started practicing Pharmacy at Harlen, KY Hospital before purchasing Pennington Gap Pharmacy in Pennington Gap, Virginia. While owning the local pharmacy, Doug also served as Captain Corps of Engineers in the United States Army Reserves with an honorable discharge May 22, 1966. Doug was also a member of the Masonic Fraternity.

Doug retired as Head Pharmacist from Lee County Community Hospital in 1999. Doug loved woodworking, tinkering, going to church, and spending time on Norris lake with his family and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his mother; Amy Cason Robinson, Father; Arthur Robinson, sister; Doris Rigoli, son; Stephen D. Robinson, Step-son; Stephen C. Garrett.

Doug is survived by his wife; Helen T. Robinson, daughter; Deborah J. Robinson Edens Bailey (William Bailey) granddaughters; Amy Edens Van Winkle (Judd Van Winkle), Lindsey Robinson, and Leah M. Bailey, grandson; James O. Edens (Rebecca Edens), and great-grandsons; Joseph L. Edens and J. Carter Edens, Step-Son, Bennett D. Garrett (Vivian Garret); Step Daughter In Law, Paula Garrett; step-grandson; Aiden M. Garrett, step-granddaughter; Abby M. Garrett. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday March 20th, 2019 at 3:00 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA, with the Rev. Brian Taylor officiating.
