Obituary for Arthur Douglas Myers Arthur Douglas “Doug” Myers, 92, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away on Jan. 6, 2019. Doug was born in Osceola, Texas, on March 23, 1926.

Doug was married to Helen Ray Forman on Oct. 8, 1946. They were married 72 years.

Doug worked at Convair (General Dynamics) and Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth. Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy during World War II from March 1944 until February 1946.

Doug recently moved to Cleburne after spending nearly 30 years in the East Texas town of Mineola. Doug loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers. He coached youth baseball for several years and enjoyed gardening.

Doug is survived by his wife, Helen Ray Myers of Cleburne, Texas; daughters, Sherida Lynn Nichols and her husband, J.D. of Naperville, IL, Valarie Myers Ramsey of Denver, CO; son Douglas Ray Myers and his wife, Rene’ of Cleburne, Texas; and four grandchildren, including Kristin Nichols Epstein and her husband, Joel of Oswego, IL, Julie Nichols Sorensen and her husband, Mikk of Libertyville, IL, Trey Douglas Myers of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Tyler Glen Myers of Cleburne, Texas. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Sarah Anne Epstein, Katelyn Elizabeth Epstein and Matthew James Sorensen. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Henry Arthur Myers; mother, Maybelle Myers; sisters Oretha Barton, Mozelle Hight, Alta Lowe, and brother Dean Myers.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Mineola Church of Christ in Mineola, Texas. Mike Ferguson of the Mineola Church of Christ will be officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral at Cedars Memorial Gardens (formerly Mineola City Cemetery). Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at Beaty Funeral Home.
