Feldmann, 95, of Hopkinton, Iowa, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends and relatives of Art may call from 2 to 7 P.M., Sunday, January 6, 2019 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Hopkinton, Iowa where a KC Rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m. The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Friends may also call after 9 a.m., Monday, January 7th at the Church until services.
Services for Art will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2019 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Hopkinton, Iowa, with Rev. Paul Baldwin Presiding. Concelebrating will be Msgr.
Lyle Wilgenbusch and Rev. John Kremer. Burial will be held in the Hopkinton Cemetery with full military honors afforded by the Hopkinton American Legion Post #311.
He was born January 2, 1924 in Hopkinton, Iowa, son of William and Agnes (Uhlenkamp) Feldmann. He received his education in the Hopkinton area country schools. On November 15, 1949 he was united in marriage to Laurabelle Wilgenbusch at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa.
She preceded him in death on December 5, 2018. The couple farmed in the rural Hopkinton area. He was also employed at the Edgewood and Monticello sale barns.
He was a World War II Army veterans, during which time he enjoyed serving in Italy. He was a member of the Hopkinton-Delhi Knights of Columbus-Court #12965, a member of the Cascade American Legion post #311, and member of the Worthington Catholic Order of Foresters-Court #0607, a member of the Delaware County Farm Bureau and a member of St. Luke Parish in Hopkinton. He is survived by his children, Bill Feldmann (special friend, Nan Strandberg) of Anamosa, Ken (Carla) Feldmann of Tucson, AZ, Mary Jane (David) Goldsmith of Earlville, Mike (Rosemary) Feldmann of Hopkinton, Steve (Jane) Feldmann of Cedar Rapids, Kathy (Dick) Offerman of Earlville and Karen (Joe) Nefzger of Dyersville, Barb (Ron) Weber of Farley, and Patricia (Doug) Steger of Delhi; 44 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Rita Feldmann of Edgewood a brother-in-law, Robert Kirpes of Dubuque.
He is preceded in death by three grandchildren, Jarad Weber, William Feldmann Jr. and Louis Weber on December 29, 2018; one great grandchild, Jackson Berlin; brothers and sisters and in-laws, Clarence Feldmann, Ed (Irene) Feldmann, Henry (Henrietta) Feldmann, Cletus Feldmann, Laura Feldmann, Mary Ann Feldmann and Delores (Bob) Link; brothers-in-law, Frank, Thomas, John and Herman Wilgenbusch; and nine sisters-in-law, Mabel Guthrie, Viola Trumm, Myrtle Krogmann, Gladys Kirby, Ethel Kenny, Rose Britt, Mary Lauersdorf, Elsie Ries, and their spouses and Alice Kirpes.
