As a child and as a young man, during the depression years the Riddle family lived in North Central Texas and New Mexico working in Agriculture. Aubrey and his young family moved to Torrance, CA in 1940 where he worked as a welder building Liberty ships in San Pedro Harbor. Later the family moved to Tulare and purchased the farm where he lived for over 70 years.

He served with the US Navy during the end of WWII. Aubrey was a farmer for 35 years and later fulfilled his life-long dream of owning and operating a cattle ranch. He loved horses, ranching and farming, enjoyed attending horse shows and could always be seen at the Tulare Agriculture Show and Tulare County Fair.

Aubrey’s final years were spent in assisted living facilities in Visalia and Granada Hills. Mr. Riddle is survived by his son Gary Riddle of Dixon, daughter, Geneva Gaylor of West Sacramento, grandson Michael Gaylor of Mill Valley, two granddaughters, Angela de la Rosa of Redondo Beach and Christina Stone of North Richland Hills, Texas. In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Cure Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue in Lancaster, California, where Lady, his last suviving mare is spending her remaining years.
