Barbara J. Pinkston, age 74, of Martinez, GA went to be with her Lord on June 7, 2018 at approximately 8:45PM after a struggle with pharyngeal cancer. She was under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA where she was staying when she was called home. She was born on October 9, 1943 to the late Glen Augustus Johnson and Pauline Johnson (Kent) of Millen, GA.

She was a Christian and member of Cornerstone Fellowship Congregational Holiness Church in Augusta, GA and was a homemaker. In her early years she worked as a seamstress at Thompson Co. in Millen, GA and as a jewelry inspector with Marks & Morgan in Augusta, GA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Sidney Johnson; her sisters: Juanita Martin, Martha Ransom, Carolyn Farrow, and Betty Saxon; and her son Alton Evans Dailey, Jr. Survivors include her husband, James (Jim) E. Pinkston of Martinez, GA; her stepsons: Bill (Tricia) Pinkston of Beech Island, SC; John Pinkston (Elena) of Charlotte, NC; Larry (Sue) Pinkston of Salisbury, NC; Bob Pinkston of Waynesville, NC; and her daughter, Teresa Ann Dailey (Thomas) Smith of Millen, GA.

She had three grandsons, two great grandsons, and a few step grandsons and daughters. Funeral services will be held at McNeill Funeral Home in Martinez, GA at: date/time officiated by Rev. Bobby Coleman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie A. Smith, Philip S. Smith, Bill Pinkston, Larry Pinkston, and Dennis Obrien.
