Surrounded by her loving family, Barbara (Barbie) Lasky left her home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Honoring her wishes, Barbie’s family will celebrate her life privately. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey.

Throughout her life, she instilled dignity, compassion and love in her relationships with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her strength, strong will, sense of humor, keen eye for detail and for ending every conversation with the words, “Love Ya”. She adored her family and was a force who will be dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know and be loved by her.

Barbie is survived by her amazing husband of 67 years Michael Lasky, son Steve Lasky (Jennifer), daughters Lisa (Dave) Berry and Dawn Behling, as well as her six grandchildren Autumn, Amber, Ashley, Ryan, Michael and Brenden. Her family is certain that her granddaughter, Miriam, who preceded her in death 13 years ago, welcomed her “home” with a big hug. Her legacy will also be carried on through her eleven great grandchildren Taylor, Brianna, Kody, Kaden Kaitlyn, Korinne, Madyson, Gracie, Lola, Julian, Bryton, Arianna and Bradley.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to McLaren Hospice Petoskey and Serenity Home Care for all their love, compassion and support. Barbie requested that those who may normally be inclined to send flowers, consider instead a gift of flowers to your own mom in Barbie’s memory. Friends and family wishing to honor Barbie through a charitable contribution consider supporting McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation Pulmonary Fund.
