Barbara L. Sear, 81, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at UPMC Susquehanna, Skilled Nursing Center, Muncy, surrounded by her family. Born June 5, 1937 in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Glenn E. and Evelyn P. (Singley) Zehner, of Hughesville. On September 29, 1990, she married John T. Sear, who survives.

Together they celebrated 28 years of marriage. Barb was a 1955 graduate of Hughesville High School. She worked as a secretary at the Ferrell Elementary School, Picture Rocks and later retired after 25 years from the former Sprout Waldron, now Andritz, Muncy.

She was an active member of Clinton Baptist Church, Montgomery. Barb enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, watching her great-grandchildren’s sporting events, meeting and socializing with good friends and especially baking cookies and sending them to her family and friends. She was proud of her volunteer work at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit and at the Son Light House, Muncy.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and April Brown and Jeffrey and Debbie Brown, all of Hughesville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Gene Cahn of Hughesville and Sharon and Thomas Holmes, of Vandergrift; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Michael and Pam Sear, of Monaca; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Garman and Sally Zehner, of Muncy, and Gerald and Dixie Zehner, of Bailey, Colorado; 13 grandchildren, Lance (Katie) Brown, Alissa (Bryan) Wolfe, Tyler Brown, Brooke (Brian) Anstadt, Nathan (Sharon) Holmes, Joshua (Karlee) Holmes, Jared (Heather) Holmes, Rebecca (Joshua) Guinter, Christen (Dan) DiRocco, Amy (Donald) Burgett, Colby Sear, Abbey Sear, and Lori (Kevin) Hartsock; and 18 great-grandchildren, Luke, Kevin, Lizzie, Emmie, Sawyer, Allison, Connor, Ella, Caleb, Isaac, Elliott, Emma, Aidan, Ainsley, Dalton, Avery, Owen and MacKenzie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Richard L. Brown. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren St., Montgomery, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev.

David Jacobs, officiating. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren St., Montgomery, PA 17752 or the Son Light House, 130 Carpenter St., Muncy, PA 17756. The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
