Obituary for Bernadine Edna “Dee” Capdeville Bernadine “Dee” Capdeville was given life by her creator and born on November 4, 1919. She was taken to her eternal rest on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd Capdeville; her parents, Herbert Frank Bennerfield and Edna Wilty Bennerfield; and her siblings, Laura Sprinkle and Herbert Bennerfield, II.
Blessed are those who die in the Lord. She is the loving mother of Kay Scheffler (Wayne), Roy Capdeville (Rosanne), and Ralph Capdeville (Maureen). She is the devoted grandmother of Mark Scheffler, Rachel Scheffler, Andrea Tilley (Terry), Nathan Capdeville, Kelly Ballay (Ben), and Julie Capdeville.
She is the devoted great- grandmother of 7 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Bernadine “Dee” Capdeville received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God on November 16, 1919.
On May 29, 1932 she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. She was joined together in holy matrimony to Floyd Capdeville on October 17, 1936. They were married for 56 years before his death in April of 1992.
God blessed them with the gift of a daughter and twin sons. Throughout her life, Dee served the Lord Jesus through her family as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was active in her church and community and enjoyed her vocation as one of only a few female barbers in the area.
Dee will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM all at Salem Lutheran Church, 418 4th Street, Gretna, LA. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
