Bernice Catherine Naber, age 97, of Carroll, died Sunday, October 28, 2018. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish-Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr.

Shinoj Jose. Lector will be Rachel Marlow. Gift Bearers will be: Maddie DeVaney, Claire DeVaney, and Kennedy Ronning.

Eucharistic Ministers will be: Meredith Marlow and Teri Ronning. Casket Bearers will be: Tim Marlow, Steven Crouse, Brian Crouse, Jeff Harvey, Jason Harvey, and Noah Ronning. Burial will be in Mt.

Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday morning where additional visitation will be held from 9-9:45 a.m. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for Kuemper Catholic Schools Foundation or Holy Spirit Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left at www. sharpfuneral.com.

Born on April 22, 1921 at Templeton, Iowa, Bernice was the daughter of Henry and Ida (Uhlenkamp) Willenborg. She spent her younger years in the Templeton area where she attended country school and Sacred Heart School. On August 24, 1948, Bernice was united in marriage to Myron “Toby” Naber at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manning.

Following their marriage, the couple resided in Grand Junction, Iowa for a brief time before moving to Carroll. Bernice was a devoted homemaker and housewife raising her 5 children always emphasizing the importance of faith, family and education. Her hobbies included sewing and crocheting, and she made an abundant amount of afghans for newborn babies at Saint Anthony Hospital.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always the last one to leave the family gatherings. Her grandchildren cherish the time she spent teaching them to fish at Swan Lake. Bernice was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.

Survivors include her children: Rose (Roger) Harvey of Easton, MD, David Naber of Sioux Falls, SD, Lois (Rod) Crouse of Ames, Dennis Naber of Rancho Mirage, CA, and Sharon (Steve) Marlow of West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Leo (Darlene) Willenborg of Manning, Edna Tigges of Cedar Rapids, and Elaine Huelshorst of Carroll; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ardella Willenborg of Manning, Norma Willenborg of Omaha, NE, Marvin “Barney” Lampe of Carroll, and Gertrude Naber of Des Moines; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bernice was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Myron; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Naber; her sisters: Jeanette Lampe and Sally Lampe; and her brothers: Marvin Willenborg and Henry “Junior” Willenborg.
