BERNIE LEE RENCH, 78, of Sidney, passed away at 10:10 AM Friday, July 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born on March 9, 1940 in Troy, Ohio, the son of the late Harvey and Vera (Ferguson) Rench. Bernie is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Blaine) Helmlinger of Sidney; granddaughter, Megan Helmlinger; and brother, Paul Murray Rench and wife of Lakeview; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernie was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. , serving from 1958-62. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion Post 217.

Bernie worked in sales for Becker Electric in Sidney for over 17 years. When he was able, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing. He loved sports of all kinds and was an avid Bengals fan.

He also enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved his family and was especially fond of his granddaughter, all of whom will miss him greatly. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave.

with Pastor Tim Bartee officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Sidney American Legion Post 217 will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
