Berniece’s Obituary Berniece K. Andersen, 96, passed away December 20, 2018 at Bethesda of Beresford in Beresford, SD. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 23 at Skrefsrud Lutheran Church, rural Beresford, SD. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, December 22 at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford, SD.

Berniece Jervik was born March 16, 1922 to Lars and Anna (Fjellsbo) Jervik near Hudson, SD. She married Martin Andersen on February 12, 1944. They raised their three children on the farm which was a special place for Berniece.

She loved gardening and had many varieties of flowers. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered at family gatherings for her chocolate chip cookies and famous meatballs.

Berniece was an active member of Skrefsrud Lutheran church where she faithfully participated in Ladies Aid, quilting and always looked forward to their annual bazaar with her fancy work and beet pickles. She was willing and eager to help whenever and wherever she was needed. She was an active member of the Extension Club and Sewing Circle.

Berniece is survived by her three children, Marilyn (LeRoy) Osborn, Diane (Terry) Andre and Stan (Barb) Andersen; 5 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and relatives; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marty; her parents, Lars and Anna; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.
