Edmore- Bertha Caroline (Miller) Rhoads passed away at her home May 22, 2018. Bertha was born to Henry Robert and Susanna Katherine (Bauman) Miller on February 23, 1929 in Remus. She attended school in Remus where she graduated from Remus High School in 1946.

On May 30, 1947 she married her husband Nathaniel “Pete” Alvin Rhoads in Big Rapids. Bertha work different jobs in her life but spent most of her time as a home maker. Bertha enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, and crocheting.

… Read More » She also enjoyed reading and playing cards. Bertha especially loved to travel across the country. She said “We lived from Maine to Kansas and have been in 46 states and Washington D.C.

We have been to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, all 5 Great Lakes, the Gulf of Mexico and Niagara Falls”. Bertha will be missed by her sons Jeffrey (Deborah) Rhoads of Blanchard and Jim (Maggie Welch) Rhoads of Blanchard; her brother Vincent (Carol) Miller of Remus; her sister Helen (Max) Griggs of Midland; a brother-in-law Don Royce of Remus; and a sister-in-law Marie Miller of Flushing; her 3 grandchildren Josh (Laura) Rhoads, Danielle (Devin) Ravard and RJ (Tiffany Bohl) Rhoads; and her 4 great-grandchildren Brody, Sofie, Addie and Ryder. Bertha will be welcomed by her husband Pete Rhoads; her parents Henry and Susanna Miller; her sister Clothy Royce and her brother Charles Miller.

A memorial service will be held on Friday May 25, 2018 at 11 am with a visitation beginning at 10 am at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore with Rev. Ron Hansen officiating. A luncheon will be held following the service.

Interment will take place at a later date at Brown Cemetery in Barryton. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Anyone wishing to send condolences to the family may do so utilizing the Brigham Funeral Chapel website at www.
