Bertha’s Obituary Bertha Felipe, 91 of Carteret passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center in South Amboy. Born in Cuba, Berth emigrated to the United States in 1967, settling in Carteret. She was a communicant of St. Joseph R.C. Church and attended Second Home Adult Care in Perth Amboy.

Bertha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, Francisco and Elvira Casal; husband, Juan Felipe in 2013 and son-in-law, Philip Struhala. Surviving are her daughter, Bertha Struhala and her partner Gary DeJohn; granddaughter, Samantha Rivas and her husband Thomas along with great grandson, Justin Rivas.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Carteret. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bertha may be made to Second Home Adult Care, 420 Fayette Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861.
