Bertie Veney, 62, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 30, 1956 in Charlottesville. She was employed at Augusta Health as a Medical Coder, She is preceded in death by her siblings, David McCauley, Ann Taylor and Charlotte Taylor.

She is survived by her parents, Haywood and Nancy McCauley; daughter, Dionnan (Chad) Veney and a son, Stuart Veney; grandchildren, Sage, Rachele, Zohra, Brianna and Isaiah; brothers, Haywood McCauley, Jr. and Milton (Mary) McCauley; sisters, Gail (Waddell) Spears, Perry Lee Bell and Denice Patterson. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939. A funeral service will be held 12:00pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 375 Mine Branch Road, Crimora, VA 24431.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
