Charles Glessner Boppe, 84, of Waynesboro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 11, 1934 in Washington County, Maryland, son of the late Charles and Mary Drury Boppe. Charles retired from Wilson Trucking Company in 1998.

He was an active member of Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Crystal Boppe, Ethel Pifer and Viola Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Weaver Boppe; son, Gordon Andre and wife, Juanita of Lyndhurst; daughters, Teresa Marie Spiller and husband, Doug of Penn Laird and Joann Lynette Brown and husband, David of Stevensville, MD; grandchildren, Brandie Stevens, Samuel Boppe, Daniel Boppe, Jesse Driver, Joseph Driver, Jacob Driver, Winton Spiller, Jessica Spiller, Reagan Brown, Zachary Brown and Dawson Brown; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Esther Arnold and husband, Earl. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22980. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Mt.

Vernon Church of the Brethren. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Gideons International, PO Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090.
