Obituary for Bertille “Betty” Martel Bertille “Betty” Martel Bangor – Betty B. Martel, 87, died July 20, 2018, at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She was born on January 7, 1931, in St. Leonard, NB, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Blanche Bourgoin. Betty enjoyed country line dancing and would perform with her husband at various healthcare facilities around Bangor.

Music was a big part of Betty’s life. Betty loved crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. She loved her Russell Stover chocolates, and was known to eat an entire box in a matter of days.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Normand H. Martel. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Doucette, of Bristol, Connecticut, Charlene Michaud, of Bangor, Maine, Donna Lee Michaud, of Fort Pierce, Florida and Paula and her husband Dana Lawrence of Brewer, Maine; Son, Carl Michaud and his wife, Debbie, of Unionville, Connecticut; Siblings, Rita Inman and James Bourgoin; Grandchildren, Christopher Carey, Peter Carey, Bridgette Flynn, Mindy Joffre; Great-Grandchildren, Shannon Carey, Cassandra Carey, Evan Carey, Nichole Hamilton and Nicholas Hamilton; a Great-Great-Grandchild, Gaven Hamilton; as well as various nieces and nephews. A small graveside service will be held at a later date.
