Obituary of Jerry Jarrell Bangor—Jerry C. Jarrell, 71, passed away at home surrounded by his family August 29, 2018, after a courageous yearlong battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was born August 31, 1946, in Stickney, WV. The day after his high school graduation, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served for four years, spending time in Goose Bay, Labrador, and the former Dow AFB, where he fell in love with his forever home, Bangor.

Shortly after his military service, Jerry was given an opportunity to start a career in banking, which spanned nearly 50 years in Bangor. He worked tirelessly to help the common man and made a huge impact on small business statewide. He was recognized by the State Legislature for his accomplishments with the SBA.

Jerry’s passion for helping people was instrumental in the formation of the well known St. Joseph Hospital annual golf fundraiser. In the 1990’s, he established the start up of St. Mary’s Daycare, which is ongoing today and has been a model for daycare providers everywhere. He loved to hunt, golf, play pool, and was an avid New England sports fan.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tricia; son Ryan and partner Katy Constant; son Matthew and his proud four legged grand-dog Duke; sister Linda Sepser-Marco and husband Joe of OH; sister-in-law Sister Judith McNamara, RSM of Portland; brother-in-law James McNamara and wife Linda of Brewer; sister-in-law Sheila Bourbon and husband Robert of FL; many nieces, nephews, and close friends; last but not least, his beloved golden retrievers Halle and Bella. The family would like to thank the Lafayette Cancer Center, in particular Dr. Cruz, and the nursing staff for their unwavering support and exceptional care over the past year. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Daycare Center, St. Jude Hospital, or a charity of your choice.

Family and friends are invited to visit 4-6 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Wednesday, September 5, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor. Burial will follow at Mt.

Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. All are invited to the church hall for a reception following the burial.
