Obituary for Bette Fisher Bette Cook Fisher,88, passed away on July 26, 2018 at Caremoor Retirement Center. She was born on January 27, 1930 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of Henry Greydon Cook and Blanche Swink Cook. Her husband, George E. Fisher, preceded her in death on September 15, 1991.
Also preceding her in death were a sister, Sara Cook Foster, 3 brothers, Harry Cook, Maurice Cook, Melvin Cook. Survivors include 3 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Cook of Kannapolis, Eunice V. Cook of Kannapolis and Latha L. Fisher of Mt. Pleasant; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bette graduated from Winecoff High School, class of 1948 and from Brevard College, class of 1950. She was employed at Cannon Mills Company, Plant #6 in Concord for 35 ½ years and other places of employment were Morrison Millwork, Harrisburg for 7 years and at Citizens Bank in Concord for 4 years. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for 42 years.
She was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class, the choir, WELCA, Olive Root, and on several various committees of the church. Memorials may be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church Hut Fund, 9400 Gold Hill Road, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, NC. The family will receive friends in the church from 1:30-3:00 and the funeral will follow at 3:00 pm.
