OBITUARY Bette Coward Thomas June 2, 1926 – July 15, 2018 Bette Ruth Thomas, age 92, passed away at home and was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, July 15, 2018. Bette was born in Fal, Louisiana to Grover Cleveland Coward and Velma Eldridge (Buffington) Coward on June 2, 1926. She grew up in Port Arthur, TX and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School where she proudly served as the Drum Major.

Bette asked Jesus Christ into her heart as a young woman and lived her life to serve Him. She is survived by her loving husband Louis J. Thomas where they enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 67 years in Houston. She was the proud Mother of three children, Darlene Brennan, Elizabeth Drawdy (Grady), and Larry Thomas (Pamela).

Her Grandchildren, Dean Latham, Shawn Brennan (deceased), Jeanette Pevateaux, Aaron Buchanan, Wayne Thomas, and Savannah Thomas gave her such joy. Her long life blessed her with knowing 12 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Bette was a friend to all, always ready for fun, and especially enjoyed travel.

Visitation and Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77060. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. Remembrances of flowers or donations may be made to: Called to Life International, Inc. P.O. Box 42265, Houston, TX 77042 are appreciated.
