Betty “Betsy” Jane Kliewer January 19, 1937 – March 04, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Betty “Betsey” Jane Kliewer entered into Heaven on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born to Edgar H. Koehler and Jane Applewhite on January 19, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother David Koehler and grandson Matthew Kliewer.

She is survived by her beloved husband Darrell Dean Kliewer, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage with, and their children Scott & his wife Karen, Cheri & her husband Tom Forsberg, Mike, John & his wife Carol and Keith & his wife Carrie. Betsey was blessed with 15 grand children and 18 great grandchildren and is also survived by her siblings Henry Koehler, John Hodges, Steve Hodges and Terri Hazelwood as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Betsey will be best remembered as an amazing artist who helped teach her family to appreciate art all around us, and even designed a mosaic piece for her church, Oak Island United Methodist Church.

She loved nature and saw the beauty in everything around her, she will be truly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Oak Island United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Her family will be receiving visitors beginning at 10am followed by a church service at 11am and interment at Oak Island Cemetery immediately following.
