Obituary for Betty Faye Lewis Betty Faye Lewis, 76, of Magnolia, AR died Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Hospice of Texarkana Inpatient Care Facility in Texarkana, TX. Betty was born February 14, 1942 in Waldo, AR and was preceded in death by her parents Doc Lee and Emma Selene (Wise) Lewis and an infant sister Mary Louise. Betty was retired from the Magnolia City Water Department and was an active member of the Mt.

Vernon Community Church. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy through the Columbia Memorial Chapter 1374 in Magnolia, AR. She was also an Honorary President of General for the National Organization.

She was very proud of her Confederate heritage and was a very active member at the local, state and national levels. She was a member of the Southwest Arkansas Civil War Heritage Trail, Friends of Jenkins Ferry Battlefield Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Betty is survived by her special cousin Bonnie (Lewis) Vollmer and husband David of Sarepta, LA and a host of extended family.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Chapel with Rev. Tim Vines officiating. Burial will follow at the Frazier Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be the Sons of Confederate Veterans. The family requests memorial donations be sent to the United Daughters of the Confederacy, 328 North Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220 for a scholarship that will be established in her honor or to the Mt. Vernon Community Church, 771 Hwy 344, Waldo, AR 71770.
