Betty Gerlean Day White, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018. She is the former wife of Charles White, Sr.; devoted mother of Charles White, Jr., Dee Ellis and her husband Donald Ellis, and Jessica White; cherished grandmother of Ginny Askew, Anna White, Samantha White, Rodney Purper, and Victoria Purper; dear great grandmother of Katelynne Askew, Logan Askew, Gavin White, Layla Lambert, and Kendyl White; caring sister of Vincent Day, Jr., Molly Vliet, Brittain Day, and Nancy Furtner. A graveside service will be held at the Day Family Cemetery, 1117 Oasis Rd, Jewell Ridge, VA 24622 on Sunday at noon.
