MADISON-Betty Jane (Farrington) Josheff, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 2, 2018. She was born on March 31, 1924, to Paul and Mabel (Schroeder) Farrington. When she was nine months old her family moved to Chicago.
She graduated from Ft. Dearborn High School in 1942, and started working at the Continental Bank as a teller. She would continue to work in the banking industry until her retirement in 1989.
Betty married Miles James Severa in October,… Read More » 1945. They then moved to Madison as Jim started at UW-Madison on the GI Bill. Jim and Betty divorced in 1962, and she married the love of her life, Chris Josheff on July 6, 1967.
Betty loved music and had a beautiful singing voice, however could not read music and sang by ear. She always sang in the church choir from a young age and was asked to sing at many weddings. Betty was part of an all-girl band in high school and played the drums.
Betty also loved to dance and took tap dancing lessons when she was young. If there was a band she was on the dance floor. She especially loved Greek dancing at Greek weddings and the annual Greek picnic.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sue (David) Wiemer; step-daughter, Sylvia Josheff; step-son, Chris Josheff Jr.; grandchildren, Jessica (Dan) Felix, Garrett (Marie Ozzane) Mitchell, Joe Knott, Stephanie Knott, Laura Knott, Chris (Jenny) Josheff III, Kristen Wollin and Diana Josheff; great-grandchildren, Curtis, Sara, Emily and Erik Wollin, Joshua, and Ben Josheff, and Edison and Miles Felix. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chris; sister, Fay; sisters-in-law, Francis, Noni and Dorothy; brothers-in-law, Charlie, Chet and Boris; in-laws, Peter and Mary Josheff; and granddaughter, Jennifer. Funeral services will be held at MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5529 Marsh Rd.
, McFarland, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 9, 2018. A private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will be held at the church after the burial.
Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m., until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the family. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Stoughton and Agrace HospiceCare.
