MIDDLETON/NEW GLARUS- Patricia Ann Haack passed away at her home on July 16, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Pat was born April 27, 1947 to Margaret (Handel) and Ray Merklein. She lived in Madison until she was five, when her family moved to Blue Mounds.

She attended Blue Mounds Grade School and graduated from Mt. Horeb High School. She attended two years at University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh.

On February 18, 1967, she married Stan Haack. Together they had 49 years – a beautiful life… Read More » in Middleton, Wisconsin for 30 years and then in New Glarus, Wisconsin for 19 years. Together they were blessed with a beautiful baby boy and girl in their lives, Bret and Heidi.

They were happiest when attending the children’s events such as school, swim team, sports, dance, etc. Pat worked for UW Health and UWMF Foundation, retiring after 32 years in April of 2012. Pat was preceded in death by her beloved Stan, her parents Ray and Margaret Merklein, brother Mike, in-laws Ed and June Haack, brother in-laws Ed and Cal Haack, Jim Willey, Bill Friedli, and sister in-law Yvonne Friedli.

Pat is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Bret and Kelli Haack, Middleton, her daughter and son in-law, Heidi and Jeff Palmer, New Glarus; brothers and sisters, Ann Merklein, Jane Merklein (John Kleinheinz), Steve Merklein, Susie Cotter (Tracy Cotter), sister in-law Mary Ann Merklein. She has five wonderful grandchildren, Drew Haack, Cassie Haack, Grace and Charlie Tollefson, and Eve Palmer, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave, Middleton, at 11a.m., on Friday, July 20, 2018, with Fr.

Brian Wilk presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Pat had such joy in her life in watching the grandchildren grow and live their lives. “Always remember to love life as your grandpa and I did”. Thank you to Dr. Lisa Barroihlet and staff at UW Hospital.
