Betty Jean Georgaris passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Betty was born December 7, 1929 in Homer City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Edward and Grace (McQuiston) Benson. On September 19, 1950, Betty was united in marriage with James “Joe” Georgaris who preceded her in death on November 7, 1999.

Betty worked for Hill’s Department store, retiring in 1978. Betty was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in leagues for many years. She was a faithful member of the Struthers Church of Christ.

Betty was a very compassionate and giving person. In her quiet and unobtrusive manner, she was always quick to help whenever someone was in need. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Jo Marie (Greg) Carroll of Kinston, NC, Kathy (Ralph) Clinkscale of Struthers , and Jim (Leslie) Georgaris also of Struthers; five grandsons, Chris (Jen) Carroll, Scott (Hope) Carroll, Ryan (Tara) Carroll, Ralph Jr. (Rochelle) Clinkscale, Nick (Heather) Clinkscale, granddaughter-in-law, Theresa Clinkscale and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition, she leaves two sisters, Alberta Murphy of New Castle, PA, Mary Anderson of Indiana, PA and two brothers, Edward (Peg) Benson of Struthers and John Benson of Clearwater FL. Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Doris Henrickson and a grandson, Matt Clinkscale. Per Betty’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or calling hours.

Following a private graveside service on Friday, September 7, 2017, family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 6:00 at the home of her daughter, Kathy Clinkscale.
