(Dennie) Morris, 92, formerly of Martins Ferry and Neffs, OH, died March 15, 2019 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born January 14, 1927 in Cameron, WV a daughter of the late William and Argatha (Chambers) Dennie. Betty retired after 40 years of service from Holiday Inn.

She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Martins Ferry where she helped prepare and serve the Wednesday Luncheons. Betty was also a member of the Polish Club and it could be said she never met a stranger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred R. Morris, sons; Raymond and Ronald Morris, sister, Paige Tippett and brother, William “Junior” Dennie.

Surviving are her children; Robert (Mary Ellen) Morris of Martins Ferry, Bill Morris of Clearwater, FL and Pamela (Mitch) Barnes of Neff, grandchildren; Bobby Morris of Columbus, Christopher (Cassandra) Morris of Niles, OH and Brianne Barnes of Houston, TX and a special friend, Flossie Smith. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Monday, from 3 – 7:30 p.m. where services will be held, Tuesday, March 18, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry W. Lewis officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
