Betty L. Robertson, 85, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the First Congregational Church in Geneseo. Reverend Bruce Bergthold will officiate.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational Church.

Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo Chapel, is assisting the family with these arrangements. Betty was born on July 12, 1933, the daughter of Roy A. and Beaulah J. (Thurman) Wilson, in Greenfield, IL. She was united in marriage to James Robertson on December 16, 1951, in Abingdon, IL.

She was employed as a librarian and study hall supervisor at Geneseo Jr. High School. She owned and operated the Prairie Workshop in Bishop Hill for 23 years. Betty was a long time member of First Congregational Church, as well as a member of the Western IL Tourism Council, Junior Women’s Club, Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, and numerous quilting clubs.

Betty enjoyed quilting, reading, playing bridge, and square dancing with her husband Jim. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jim; sons, Richard Robertson, Atkinson, Greg Robertson, Bishop Hill, and Todd (Janni) Robertson, Colona; five grandchildren, Nicole (Brett) Myers, Columbia, MO, Eric Robertson, Eagle River, WI, Brittany (Matt) Parker, Washington, IL, Tyler (Renee) Robertson, Geneseo, and Caleb (Leah) Robertson, Wilton, IA; and eight great-grandchildren, Maxton, Lilly, Molly, and Ellie Parker, Shea, Harper, Ryder, and Reed Robertson. Betty is also survived by her sisters, Carol Morby, Aledo, and Charlotte Sensebaugh, of Galesburg.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Beaulah, son, Dennis Robertson, sister, Donna Jones, and brother, Jerry Wilson.
