Obituary for Betty Lee Jensen Betty Lee (Kinyon) Jensen, 85, of Greeley, was born May 14, 1933 to Flora S. and Guy L. Kinyon in Denver, Colorado. She died June 21, 2018 at her home. Betty was a stay at home mom who volunteered for many organizations while the two boys, Mark and Matt, were growing up.

She took care of their grandson, Mark, whom she dearly loved, while his parents worked. She later became a Great Grandmother to an adorable boy, Castin Haven Jensen. The family always had dogs and she loved them all.

Betty and her husband Marvin enjoyed many weekend fishing trips. When their boys were small, they all fished for “brookies” on Silver Creek near Walden. Later, they joined Ryan Ranch Fishing Club and the Platte Pond which was nearby.

They all caught much bigger fish on the river and in the lake. She like to play bridge and played every month with her good friends. She also liked to go to Central City and Black Hawk.

But, most of all, she loved being with her family. Betty met her husband, Marvin, at CSU (then named Colorado A&M). They were happily married for 60 years.

Betty was an independent magazine agent for many years and became acquainted via telephone with so many nice people. Later, she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband and son’s construction company (Western Construction). She was a member of First Christian Church and loved her church family.

She served on the Christian Women’s Fellowship Board and took on the leadership role as coordinator of the Visiting Teams going out to visit the church member shut-ins for 25 years. She was a greeter at church services and sang in the choir for many years until she lost her hearing. Later, her hearing was partially regained with a cochlear implant.

Betty is survived by her sons Mark B. (Rachel) of Greeley, Matt D. (Nancy) of Tucson, AZ; grandson Mark L. (Kaydee); great grandson Castin of Granby; and brother Don of Las Vegas, NV. She is preceded in death by her husband Marv; both parents and sister Ginny. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the First Christian Church.
