Bennettsville, SC Betty Audrey Leviner Chavis, 80 years old, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at McLeod Health Cheraw. Betty was born August 24, 1938 in Bennettsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ben Franklin Leviner and Lydia Cannon Leviner. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and attending church at Bennettsville First Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a member.

She is survived by her husband, Grantham Lee Chavis; daughter, Phyllis Ann Chavis (Michael) of Chavistown; son, Grant Chavis (Stephanie) of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Audrey Chavis Blackmon (John, Sr.), James Phillip Chavis, Rachel Ann Chavis; nephew, Curt Creech; a special niece, Wanda Diane Grooms; 8 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Chavis is preceded in death by her parents listed above; brothers, Roy C. Leviner, Ervin J. Leviner, Frank Leviner, Jr., Harold Leviner; sisters, Ruby M. Leviner Roller, Ruth Leviner Driggers, Ella Leviner Creech; and an infant sister, Mary Ellen Leviner. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Burroughs Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018 at the funeral home with burial following at Chavis Cemetery in Bennettsville. On-line condolences may be made to www.
