Betty’s Obituary Betty Lou Ludwig, 83 of Wheaton, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2019. She was born May 18, 1935 in West Chicago, IL. To all who knew her she was a quick witted caring individual who kept everyone around her on their toes.

Betty was a successful franchise owner for over 15 years during her 25 year career at Cock Robin in Wheaton, IL. She went on to work for Wheaton Warrenville South and Glenbard North in food service, All the while maintaining the books and supporting her husband of 58 years Raymond Ludwig and his own small business. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend Betty was a baseball fan, dog lover, avid reader, Breast Cancer survivor, giraffe admirer and had an appreciation for all flowers.

If she wasn’t at the Elks Lodge supporting her husband of 58 years she was crafting Halloween costumes for them to wear, scouting garage sale bargains, playing cards games, doing puzzles or saving the longest french fries for her grandkids at Cock Robin. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 0S233 Church St., Winfield, IL 60190. Mass to begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by an interment at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.

Surviving are her children Lisa (Scott) Whetzal, John, and David (Therese), grandchildren Shannon, Emilie (Doug) Folding, Chad (Christy), Alissa McCabe, Jordan (Amber), Jason (Maryann) Whetzal, Jessica (Randy) Suttle and seven great-grandchildren who she often referred to as “little warts”. Siblings, Dolores (Jim), Sue Dieter, Raymond (Kathy) Dieter, Rita (Bob) Klavon, Patsy (Wayne) Miesenholder, Mike (Connie) Dieter, and Sue (John) Kirkton. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Ludwig, parents Clara Stark and Edwin Dieter, sisters Jean Assell, Shirley Wiesneth and brother Alan Dieter.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Susan G Komen for the Cure in lieu of flowers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the loving caregivers at Maple Glen Memory Care Community.
