Betty R Lewis , August 21, 1928 — January 05, 2019

Betty R. Lewis, 90, most recently of Hughesville and formerly of Washington State, died Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Leighton Place, Williamsport. Born August 21, 1928 in Lemoore, CA she was a daughter of the late Cecil C. and Hazel R. (Perce) Shore. On March 31, 1949, she married Frederick E. Lewis Sr. and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage until his death on January 1, 2010.

Betty graduated from Lincoln High School, WA. She worked for Boeing in Seattle, WA and later retired after many years working as a secretary for her husband’s Accounting business in Ballard, WA. She attended Grace Baptist Church, Muncy.

Betty loved gardening, traveling with her husband and reading. Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Teffeteller and her husband, Charles, of Hughesville, with whom she lived and enjoyed spending the last nine years of her life; two sons, Frederick E. Lewis Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Aptos, CA, and David N. Lewis and his wife, Shannon, of Bothell, WA; one sister, Joyce Gustavson, of Ballard, WA; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Carol McDonald.

The family is planning a memorial service to honors Betty’s life at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Rd. , Muncy.

Officiating will be her son-in-law, the Rev. Charles Teffeteller, and her grandson, Pastor Char Teffeteller. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood, WA.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
