Donald L. Walton, 74, a longtime resident of Muncy, died Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Williamsport Home. Born Jan. 10, 1945 in Muncy, he was a son of the late David L. and Alberta E. (Houseknecht) Walton.

He and his wife, the former Linda DeParasis, celebrated 38 years of marriage before her death Jan. 28, 2010. Donald was a 1963 graduate of Muncy High School.

He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Donald previously worked at Sylvania, Muncy and later retired after 30 years from Sprout Waldron, now Andritz, Muncy, where he worked in the foundry. He was a member of Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W. and the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, both of Muncy.

Donald was a strong, hardworking, loving, and caring man whose family was his life. He looked forward to spending every opportunity he got playing cards with his friends. Donald also enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting.

He was someone that his children and grandchildren looked up to and admired very much. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David E. and Amy Walton, of Muncy; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn M. and Brad Shaner, of Montgomery; two brothers, George C. and June Walton, of Muncy and James B. Walton, of Las Vegas, NV; and three grandchildren, Justin D. and Britney Shaner, of Allenwood, Cody J. Shaner, of Montgomery and Morgan A. Walton, of Muncy. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia A. Walton in 1999 and Sandra L. Bair in 1972.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Arlene Beechert, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Muncy, officiating. Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
