Betty Rose Goeppinger, 87, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Riverside Hospital, in Columbus. Betty was born January 30, 1931 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Raymond and Rose {Bailey} Atkinson. She married her grade school sweetheart Emil Goeppinger on January 30, 1988, and had spent almost 31 loving years together.

Betty loved to travel and lived for over ten years in California. She was bright, witty, and imaginative. She was colorful, vibrant, and full of life.

She was independent, stubborn, and creative. Betty loved to paint with oils, and was a student of art. She loved all animals, feathered and furred, both domestic and wild.

Betty will be deeply missed by her husband Emil of Mount Vernon; children Charles R. Wilson Jr., Debbie (Jay) Cotts, John (Cathy) Goeppinger, Kenneth (Patty) Goeppinger, Kathy Lester, Thomas (Rhonda) Goeppinger, Barbara (Greg) Van Houten, Beth (Scott) Thompson, and Steven (Chris) Goeppinger; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Betty has left many bereaved family members, including the furry love of Buffy, a Shih Tzu. Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Russ Gumm officiating. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.
