Betty Sue (Eger) Scheller, 82, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Betty was born on August 7, 1936 in Evansville to the late Leo and Anna (O’Reilly) Eger. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Altar Society, and the recipient of the Brute Award recognizing her outstanding model of Christian stewardship.

She was employed as a secretary at Westside Catholic School where she was known as the band-aid lady. She volunteered at Life Choice, tutored at St. Agnes School, and spent countless hours making fudge for the Fall Festival, stacking girl scout cookies in her living room, and cheering on the Mater Dei Wildcat athletes. Surviving Betty are three daughters, Patti Beaty (Terry) of Indianapolis, Mary Beth Jones (Jim) of St. Paul, Minnesota and Amy Scheller (Jeff Cords) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sons, Bob Scheller (Mary) of Evansville and Steven Scheller of Chicago; and twelve grandchildren, Clare, Theresa, Leo and Maria Scheller; Ethan, Ellen and Paul Beaty; Peter (and fiance Casey), Elizabeth and Maggie Jones; and, Anna and Ira Cords.

Betty loved most when her kids and grand-kids were gathered around her, both in her home and on family vacations, sharing food, laughs, and adventures together. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Scheller in 2002, her sister, Mary Ann Klausmeier and two brothers, Joseph Eger and John Eger. There will be a Funeral Mass at 10 AM, Monday, April 1st, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev.

John Brosmer officiating with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street where a Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM. Visitation also prior to mass at 9:30 AM on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
