Theodore L. Kares, Sr., 77, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Bethel Manor Nursing Home. He was born February 15, 1942 in Evansville to the late Genevieve (Unfried) and Henry P. Kares, Jr. Ted was a 1960 graduate of Mater Dei High School. He was a painter and wall-paper hanger and member of Local 156 of District Council 91.

He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Vanderburgh County. Ted loved his family and enjoyed attending all of his children’s activities. Ted is survived by his wife, Berta M. Kares of 54 years; sons, Teddy L. Kares (Angie), and Henry P. Kares (Kerri); daughter, Ann M. Heldt (Rick); grandchildren, Sierra, Teddy, and Sammy Heldt; granddaughter, Aubrie Coakley; sister, Sara Becker (Jerry); brother, Danny Kares (Linda); nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Henriella Montgomery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 North First Ave. A Memorial service will begin at 5:00 pm.

Visitation will continue from 9:30 am – 10:00 am Thursday, March 28, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6202 West St. Joe Road, Evansville, IN 47720 where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am with Father Eugene Schroeder officiating. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6202 West St. Joe Road, Evansville, IN 47720.
