Virgie Lord, 76, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Deaconess Gateway. She was born August 8, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Raymond and Jewel (Williams) Latham. Virgie loved cooking, singing, performing music and horse racing.

She was a fighter with a competitive spirit. Virgie was a loving and giving person. She was a member of the V.F.W. Women`s Auxillary.

Virigie is survived by sons, Roger (Melody) Lantz, Kevin (Traci) Lantz, Eric Lantz and William (Janet) Lord III; daughter, Terri Lord and Patty Lord; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Jerry (Barbara) Latham, Richard (Judy) Latham; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lord II; and brother, Tom Latham. Visitation will be 11:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave.

, Evansville. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Washington D. C. next to her husband.

The family would like to thank the staff Solarbron and Gateway Hospital Tower A, 5th Floor for their professionalism & compassionate care of Virgie.
