Helen M. (Mitz) Goebel, 85, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the West River Health Campus. Helen was born March 16, 1934 in Evansville to the late Henry C. and Margaret M. (Miller) Mitz. She had worked as an executive secretary at Whirlpool Corporation before marriage and was a homemaker.

She was a graduate of FJ Reitz High School where she was a majorette in the band. She enjoyed gardening. Surviving Helen are her son, Frank A. Goebel, III; nieces, Priscilla (Tim) Clements, Patricia (Everett) Ashby and Vicky Bradshaw and great nieces, Allyson and Holly.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frank A. Goebel and by a brother, Charles Mitz, Sr. There will be a Mass of Christian burial held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rev. Peduru Fonseka, OSB officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 10:30 AM until service time on Monday at Resurrection Catholic Church.
