Obituary for Ms. Bettye Wells Ms. Bettye Wells, 72 of Pascagoula, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Pascagoula. She was born August 5,1945 in Lucedale and was retired from Jackson County Youth Court as an administrative assistant with over 36 years of service. Bettye enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, fishing and watching tv.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Johnnie Thornton Jr., and sister Barbara Ann Thornton. Bettye is survived by two sisters Brenda Kay Glass and Mary Ellen Thornton, both of Pascagoula; and a brother, Glenn Roy “Bill” Thornton of Lucedale. Bettye will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 5:00 until 6:00 pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. A celebration of Bettye’s life will begin at 6:00 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Perry Smith officiating.
