Obituary of Betty Moore Betty J. (Levan) Moore, 74, of Rockland Township, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at her home. Born June 27, 1943, in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Mildred F. (Epler) Levan. She and her husband of 52 years, Ronald R. Moore, were married on August 14, 1965 at Spies Church, Alsace Township.

Betty was a nurse at Reading Hospital for 47 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, PA. Betty was a 1961 graduate of Oley Valley High School and a graduate of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing.

Betty was known as the “Cookie Lady” at Reading Hospital. She was famous for her chocolate cake, and also for her chocolate chip cookies, which she would bring to work every day. She loved playing bingo, saduko and crossword puzzles.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Ronald, are her children, Jodi L. Moore, Rockland Township and Christopher Moore, Doylestown, and her grandchildren, Megan and Hunter. She is also survived by her brother, Allen B. Levan, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and her sisters, Anne E. (Levan) Dierolf, Fleetwood and Pauline K. (Levan) Goodhart, Rockland Twp.
