Obituary of Beverly Montgomery Beverly J. Sneed Montgomery, 94, passed away at 11:16 a.m. at York Place in Marion on Saturday, November 3, 2018. She was born in Delaware County on January 29, 1924, and was the daughter of Charles Snodgrass and Edith (Hensley) Pogue. She married her first husband, William “Bill” Sneed, and he preceded her in death.

She then married her second husband, William Montgomery, who also preceded her in death. Beverly was a graduate of Washington High School in Delaware County. She retired from RCA (Thomson Consumer Electronics) after 32 years of service as an inspector.

She was a member of Temple Congregational Church in Marion, where she served on the Benevolence Committee and also as a past deaconess. Beverly volunteered at Marion General Hospital, working the front desk, as well as being a messenger for 35 years. She also served on the Auxiliary Board at the hospital.

She was involved in the Phi Delta Kappa Ladies Club, the Euchre Club, the Red Hat Group, and the 55 Speeders. She liked knitting, crocheting, and cross stitch. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving family-centered woman.

Survivors include her son, Clifford “Randy” (Janice) Sneed, Fairmount; daughter, Melodie (Harry) Gordon, Marion, and Kathy Gray, Marion; son, Andrew (Claudia) Montgomery, Markle; daughter-in-law, Darlene Sneed; grandchildren, Dr. Clifford R. (Katti) Sneed, Vicki (Ivan) Sneed, David (Jamie) Rahrar, Tracy (Bob) Boyd, Leigh Ann (Todd) Miller, Amy Kelly, Kent (Betsy) Montgomery, and Lori (Toby) Welpott; great-grandchildren, Duke Sneed, Dillon Sneed, Dalton Sneed, Marco Zapien, Pilar Zapien, Chelsea Rahrar, Gabrielle Rahrar, Ashlee Boyd, Stephen Boyd, Gayle Miller, Christian Miller, Amanda Kelly, Shawn Kelly, Amy Montgomery, Kelly Montgomery, Laura Montgomery, Mae Welpott, and Tori Welpott; sister, Norma (Earl) Pitt; several nieces and nephews; and her two cats, Missy and Cali. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, James B. Sneed; great-grandson, Bobby Boyd; and sister, Bernice Brandenburg. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Beverly’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
