Bill’s Obituary William Sherman “Bill” Ashley, age 50, Galena, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at his home. He was born December 13, 1968 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to Boyd Keith Ashley and the late Eula Ann Litterell. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Ashley.

Bill worked as a diesel mechanic for several local trucking companies and was always known to help a friend out in need. He married Christy Ann Slimp on April 5, 2005 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Additionally he is survived by three sons, William Sherman Ashley, Jr., Joplin, Franklin Dewayne Ross, Baxter Springs, Sherman Douglas Ashley, Galena; two daughters, Felicia Elaine Ames, Westville, Oklahoma, Katlyn Nicole Ross, Excelsior Springs, Missouri; three brothers Steven Ashley, Baxter Springs, David Ashley, Galena, Douglas Ashley and wife, Rita, Galena; three sisters, Mary Logan and husband, Kelly, Carol Truster, and Connie Kidwell, all of Baxter Springs. Graveside services are planned for 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery, Joplin. Pastor Marty Jones will officiate.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
