Mr. Bill Curry, of Marion, passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Autumn Care of Marion. Mr. Curry was born in McDowell County on March 15, 1941, a son of the late Strale Atkins Curry and Lula Dayberry Curry. He was retired from Baxter Healthcare.

His talkative personality and great sense of humor made him a joy to be with and won him many friends. A hard working man, Bill provided well for his family whom he loved deeply. His faithful canine companion, Sputnik, will miss the lemon cookies he treated him to.

His wife of 37 years, Judy Boone Curry, preceded him in death in 2010. Saddened by his passing are two daughters, Ayla Presnell and husband Caleb of Marion and Cindy Curry of Rutherfordton. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Melissa Cauthen and Michelle Cox, and two great-granddaughters, Tuie and Shayla.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2018 at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. Following the visitation, he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Judy at McDowell Memorial Park. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated, however, those desiring to make a memorial contribution in his memory are encouraged to consider CarePartners Hospice McDowell at 575 Airport Road, Marion, NC 28752.
