Frances Reel Vaughn, age 73, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, January 7, 2019. Frances was a daughter of the late Fred Reel and Ruth Hutchins Reel Banks and was born in Marion on February 24, 1945. She worked for many years at the Elizabeth James Hosiery Mill.

One of her favorite things to do was to cook for her family and her cooking was much appreciated by those who enjoyed it. Her beautiful smile was like a ray of sunshine to those she knew and loved but the beauty of her personality was what will be most remembered about this lovely soul. She will be genuinely missed by those whose lives she touched.

Frances leaves behind her loving life partner of 43 years, Bud Stamey; four children, Anita Vaughn Ollis, Penny Vaughn Smith, Sherry Vaughn Buff and Jeff Dean Vaughn and wife Donna; two grandchildren, Stacy Smith Whitson and husband Jason and Quintin Smith; her long time special friend, Carolyn Mace Clontz; and her special friend and caregiver, Lisa Buchanan. A service of remembrance and celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion and will be led by her sister-in-law, Eva Mae Hogan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.
