Obituary for Billie Sue Sandusky Billie Sue Sandusky, 91, of Connellsville Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Mon. Sept. 17, 2018.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1927 in Normalville the daughter of the late Eugene Rehm and Madeline Rehm Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert V. Sandusky in 2010 and her brother John Rehm earlier this year.
Billie Sue was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Connellsville for over 70 years, having served on church council, and teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. As a member of the Connellsville Hospital Auxiliary, she worked in the hospital gift shop for a number of years. Billie Sue was a graduate with the Connellsville High School class of 1944 and was active in planning class reunions.
She worked for Kooser Insurance, was a Connellsville Township wage tax collector, then worked for Southwest Regional Tax Bureau. After retiring, she worked as secretary and bookkeeper for 20 years at he family owned Sandusky Lumber Company. She is survived by daughters, Nina (John) Ivey of Connellsville and Nancy (Richard) Flanigan of W. Allenhurst, NJ.
, sons Alan (Mickie) Sandusky of Connellsville and Glen (Suzanne) Sandusky of Upper St. Clair. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, John (Linda) Ivey, Nathan (Brianna) Ivey, Laura (Drew) Dundas, Kim (Douglas) Raynor, Patrick (Brittany) Flanigan, Matthew (Hannah) Sandusky, Daniel (Rachel) Sandusky,Nicholas, Jackson, and Benjamin Sandusky. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, Ross Ivey, Addie and Lucy Ivey, Fletcher and Declan Dundas, Charlie and Joey Raynor, and Mya and Marlee Sandusky.
In her final months Billie Sue was given loving and compassionate care by Autumn for Aspire and Carol and Angel for Amedysis. Billie Sue especially treasured the time she spent with her friend and caregiver, Cathy Henry. Billie Sue’s greatest love was her family and her happiest times were with them, over big dinners with lots of laughter.
Family and friends will be received Tue. from 7-9 PM and Wed. from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville (724-628-1430) where a Prayer Service will be held Thur.
at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 126 E. Fairview Ave. , Connellsville PA. 15425, with Rev.
Kerri Clark officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, at the mentioned address, in memory of Billie Sue Sandusky.
