Obituary for Richard P. Mondock Sr. Richard P. Mondock, Sr., 86 of Mount Pleasant died Tuesday September 11, 2018 in Hempfield Manor. He was born May 16, 1932 a son of the late John J. and Anna R. Mayernik Mondock. Richard was retired from Robertshaw Controls where he was employed for 13 years and he previously worked for Walworth for almost 30 years before it closed.

He was an active member of Visitation Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister for many years. He also ran the hamburger stand at the parish festival and bowled in the Visitation Bowling League before quitting due to health issues. He also loved golfing, going to morning mass on weekdays and loved to socialize with the guys.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army and was a lifetime member of the Mount Pleasant VFW. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Ruth Brooks Mondock with whom he was married for 62 year on June 16 and Richard planned a surprise party for his wife. ; his children, Pamela R. Mondock and Richard P. Mondock, Jr., both of Mount Pleasant; a grandson, Nathan A. Keenan of Chicago, Ill.

, step grandchildren, Josh Overly and his wife Heather, Kristin Overly and Jessica Lewis and her husband Adam; step great granddaughter, Sydni Overly, step great grandson, Presley Overly; step great grand daughter Alayna Lewis; step great grandson, Samual Lewis; his brothers, John Mondock, Jr. and Mary Shaw of Mount Pleasant, Ronald Mondock and his wife Carol of Greensburg; his sister, Evelyn DePalma of Mount Pleasant; sister-in-law Margaret “Peggy” Mondock of Mount Pleasant and sister-in-law Bernice Barcheck of Springfield, Va. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Bernard Mondock. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. Friday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Visitation R.C. Church with Rev.

Richard Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will follow in Visitation Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Mount Pleasant American Legion and VFW Honor Guard.
