Longtime Latta resident, Mr. Billy Derrell Derryberry passed from this life on September 15, 2018 at the Corner Stone Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. Billy was born April 15, 1933 in Ada, Oklahoma to his parents Barney and Elizabeth (Nelson) Derryberry. He and his wife of 68 years Miss Lena Medcalf married July 31, 1950 in Bakersfield, CA.

He was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church. Billy’s greatest love was his grandchildren and teaching them the enjoyment of nature. His greatest legacy will be kept alive thru his children and grandchildren in the teaching of his hard work ethics, honesty and love of family.

Billy is survived by his wife Lena Derryberry of the home, 1 son; Wade Derryberry and wife Mary of Bakersfield, CA and 1 daughter; Luanne Lee of Ada, Ok, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Morris Memorial Baptist Church in Latta, OK with Pastor David Fensler officiating.
