Obituary for Billy Frans Waters SOUTH THOMASTON – Billy F. ‘Bill’ Waters, 89, died peacefully at his home, Monday, June 4, 2018. Born in Chicago, Illinois, June 1, 1929, he was the son of Frank and Alma Sutela Waters. Moving to Maine as a baby, he has been a lifelong South Thomaston resident and attended local schools there.
A hard worker his entire life, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951. Serving during the Korean War, he was honorably discharged in 1953. Returning to civilian life, Bill worked driving cement truck for Star Brothers.
He also worked building homes in the construction industry and later at Marine Colloids. For many years he has greatly enjoyed spending winters in Florida and growing tomatoes at his home. Predeceased by two sons, Billy Waters, Jr. and George Waters; and a grandson, Rory Waters, Bill is survived by his sons, Daryl Waters and his wife Laurie, David Waters all of South Thomaston; his daughter Toinie Waters of Searsmont; his grandchildren, Braelyn Waters, Natashia Waters, Alina Couillard and her husband Donny, Anthony Toto, III and his wife Heather, Crystal Waters and Jessica Waters.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disable American Veterans, P.O. Box 351, Togus, ME 04330-3151.
