OBITUARY Billy Joe Rudisill May 21, 1931 – January 10, 2019 NEWTON- Billy Joe Rudisill, 87, of Newton, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation in Boone after 4 years of declining health. Born May 21, 1931, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Joe and Ida Rhoney Rudisill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an Air Force Veteran during the Korean Conflict. Billy was retired from Corning Cable Systems. He is survived by his son Robert “Bob” Rudisill of Hickory, granddaughters Ashley Campbell and husband Cody of Hickory and Stephanie Henkin and husband Chad of Greer, SC; 8 great grandchildren, Mina, Nomi, Micah, Jillian, Hallee, Mac, Parker, and Sophie; sister Nellie Evans of Newton; and his brothers Ted Rudisill of Hickory and Charles (Shorty) Rudisill of Newton and number of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at Hickory Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with the Rev. David Drysdale officiating.

Military Honors will be provided by Post 544. Arrangements are with Hickory Funeral Home.
