Obituary for Billy Lewis Stinson Billy Lewis Stinson, age 84, of Gamaliel passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. He was born on April 12, 1934 in Warren County, KY to the late Harvey Stinson and Tishie Pearl Bohannan Stinson. He was united in marriage with his wife Barbara Wood, who survives, in Tompkinsville in the year 1953.
He was saved and a longtime member of White Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a veteran and served his country in the United States Army. Throughout the years he owned and operated a T.V Shop in Gamaliel and the Best Way grocery store in Gamaliel, worked as a contractor and built numerous homes in Gamaliel, served as city policeman for the city of Gamaliel, and later years retired from the Monroe County School Board as a school bus driver.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons: Kerry Lewis Stinson and Wife Sheryl ,Ronnie Dale Stinson and wife Cathy , Timothy Wade Stinson, Billy Michael Stinson and wife Pat, Jonathan Wood Stinson and wife Lorie all of Gamaliel, 10 grandchildren: Teresa Grizzell, Jake Stinson, Justin Stinson, Jill Williams, Kaylin Stinson, Jacklyn Moore, Mandy Netherton, Logan Stinson, Landon Stinson and Larissa Stinson, one step-granddaughter: Sherilyn Proffitt, 14 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers: James Stinson and Harvey Stinson Jr. and two sisters: Irene Coulter and Nina Shaw. Pallbearers will be Jake Stinson, Justin Stinson, Logan Stinson, Landon Stinson, Tony Grizzell, Patrick Williams, Chase Moore, and Cory Netherton.
Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM at White Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in the White Oak Community in Monroe County. Bro.
Terrell Kingrey will officiate the service. Burial will be in the White Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15 from 10: 00 AM- 8:00 PM at the Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel.
Visitation will continue on Sunday, September 16 from 7:30 AM- 12:30 PM at the Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel.
